Julia Meighan

Chief Executive

Julia is the CEO of VMA Group, a leading global executive professional recruitment and career development partner, specialising in the Corporate Communications, PR, Investor Relations and Marketing Communications professions.

Julia became Managing Director of VMA Group (previously known as Vicky Mann Associates) and invested in the business in 2003 and since then has led the growth and development of the company, achieving UK market leading status in 2007. Since then Julia’s focus as Executive Chairman has been to develop VMA Group globally, leading the establishment of offices in mainland Europe and Asia Pacific, as well as forming a strategic partnership with Patino Associates in the US.

In 2000 Julia formed Interim Performers, an Interim Management business which was taken over by VMA Group in 2008. Prior to this Julia was MD of a medical recruitment business, conducting an £11 Million buyout with Phildrew Ventures. Julia began her career as a management trainee for the John Lewis Partnership and spent several years as a sales manager at Nabisco Foods before moving into sales management in the IT industry.

Julia is passionate about stakeholder communications and developing the vital role of Corporate Communications as the custodian of an organisation’s corporate reputation. Julia regularly comments and writes articles and is a thought leader on all aspects of leadership communications, employee engagement and managing corporate reputation.

As a result of her business success, Julia has appeared in the Channel 4 TV programme, How the Other Half Live, in collaboration with Save the Children. The programme gave Julia the opportunity to mentor a single mum, Zofia Willis. Julia gave Zofia the confidence and inspiration to start a new business and create a financially secure future for Zofia and her daughter.

Julia completed her MBA in 1997 and has worked with The Prince’s Trust for the last 15 years as a specialist mentor. Julia also chairs launch panels for The Prince’s Trust’s flagship Enterprise Programme. Alongside other business interests, Julia has been married for 20 years and lives in Buckinghamshire with her husband and two children.
